Day 1 - Meet & Greet at Airport!

  • Welcome program at the airport. Azerbaijan folk dances by professional dance band and musicians. Transfer to the hotel and check-in.
  • After settling down to the hotel and having rest, guests will have dinner in a local restaurant and enjoy evening walk in city center “Fountain Square”.

Return to the hotel. Overnight in the the hotel.

Day 2 - Meet the city of East & West; Baku

  • 08:45 A.M: City tour begins with a visit to the Upland Park.
  • Upland Park is located on a hill in the western part of the city. This is the best place to see the city and the Baku Bay. The architecture of the capital is very eclectic; it is a combination of different styles and influences such as barocco, classicism and modern architecture, both Eastern and Western. The rout covers the downtown and shows the most interesting historical and architectural sights.
  • The tour will continue visiting the "Old City" that had preserved and walls and narrow cobbled streets till our days...

A number of the Soviet-time movies were shot here. Tourists will see the main attractions of the Old City, including the Palace of the Shirvan Shahs (XV cent), the symbol of the city - Maiden Tower (XII cent), Caravansarais, mosques etc.

  • Next, we will drive to “Azer Ilme” carpet factory. Here tourists will have a chance to see the whole process of carpet production including how masters dye yarn with natural dyes, then how carpets are weaved, washed, dried and ironed.

Azerbaijani carpets have always been of very high quality and preserved its spesific art style which has let them be spread and highly appreciated around the world.

Here you will have a chance to see the restoration of old models of national carpets.

Outside the factory, there is a shop where everybody can buy their favourite carpets or silk scarves for women.

Day 3 - Heading to Ismayilli

  • We drive to Ismayilli region of country in the Greater Caucasus. First destination will be Basqal village where tourists will witness the interesting making process of ‘Kelagayi” – national silk headwear for women.

Lahij represents an original monument of the Persian town -planning and architectural art of an antiquity. It is a medieval city with paved streets and squares, developed system of water drain and water supply.

This village is inhabited by hereditary tanners, engravers, potters, blacksmiths, and metal and wood carvers. During the excursion, you will see an ancient bridge connecting two villages, a stone water-pipe from the 16th century, and specimens of dwellings from the 19th century with murals; we will also visit the Museum of regional studies, where ancient carpets and brass articles are kept.

Right after arrival at Lahij you will enjoy meal at the local restaurant and taste the peculiarities of the Lahij cuisine.

  • In the second half of the day you will have a walk around the village and enter various craft workshops where you will see the work of blacksmiths, chasers, potters and other masters of craftsmanship. Also you can buy any item you like.
  • Next, we will drive to ancient city of Sheki

Day 4 - Unfold the secrets of sweet city - Sheki

  • Start exploring Sheki.

Sheki is one of the most famous and ancient places of Azerbaijan. Situated 700 m (2297 ft.) above sea level like an amphitheatre surrounded by the mountains and forests of oak trees, this ancient city was long famed as a silk centre and an important stop on the Great Silk Route.

We’ll start our Sheki tour from visiting the 18th century Khan's summer Palace with magnificent frescos and exquisite stained glass work.

  • Then visiting of “Shebeke” (handmade frescos) workshop, we will witness one of the most interesting craftsmanship works.
  • Lunch in a restaurant
  • After lunch we will visit “Pakhlava” (special Sheki sweet that is famous in Azerbaijan and in the region) workshop and see the preparation process. You will also have a chance to taste and buy irresistibly delicious “Pakhlava.
  • Following the visit to “Pakhlava” workshop, we will enjoy free walking time in the historical, ancient, stone-paved streets of the city that have witnessed thousands of events throughout the years.
  • Next, we will leave for Baku. 
  • Dinner in a restaurant on the way.

Day 5 - Dive into history in the outskirts of Baku

  • Excursion to Gala village.

Ethnographic Open-Air Museum "Gala" is about a 40-minute drive from Baku. The museum is created on an archaeological site. The village is 5000 years old, nevertheless there are still some neighborhoods that have survived to the present day.

During the tour you will get acquainted with the ancient dwellings, with the life of that time, traditions, with methods of farming. Participants will be told about the way of living of people who lived here many centuries ago, you will see the real objects of that time.

But the most important thing is that visitors have the opportunity to plunge into the ancient life. In this museum visitors bake real bread cakes, sit at a loom or smear in clay, trying themselves at the potter's wheel.

  • After lunch we will have a tour to Gobustan Historical-Art Reserve.

The reserve is well known with its perfectly preserved rock paintings - petroglyphs - a kind of artistic "archive" of human evolution on the Earth. "Documents" of such archives is the first human’s presentation of his/her "I" to the outside world.

Gobustan Rocks are not just the brightest witnesses of the prehistoric period of human existence. They reflect the history of this region for nearly 15,000 years - since the end of the era of the Upper Paleolithic till the Middle Ages. Of particular interest are the images multi-oar boats, with a light source at the stern. They were drown above the level at which people had been portrayed, and this phenomenon set up a lot different interpretations. Today Azerbaijani scientists found, described and studied more than 4,000 petroglyphs (rock painting in the stone carving art) and this important work continues.

  • Before the start of the tour around Gobustan guests will visit the interactive museum with the same name, where with the help of special programs and multimedia touch screens you will get information about the nature, the flora of Gobustan.
  • Gala dinner in a restaurant with musical show program and national dance.

Day 6 - Departure Day

  • Depending on the time of the flight, tourists will spend some time visiting architectural beauty and diamond of Baku; Haydar Mosque.

Then, we will transfer guests to the airport for departure.
